Technology on the farm
This page lists the technology on our farm. Each item says whether it is running, built or planned, and when. We describe only what we can show.
Running
-

Insulated rooms
Insulated sandwich-panel rooms lined with steel racks.
Running since August 2026
-

Cooling
Split air conditioners cool the rooms.
Running since July 2026
-

Humidity
Humidifiers fed with RO-treated water are switched on once the mushrooms begin to form.
Running since July 2026
-
Water
An RO plant treats the water used in the rooms.
Running since July 2026
-

Ventilation
Exhaust fans with louvred shutters clear the air. We aim to keep CO₂ in the rooms below 650 ppm.
Running since August 2026
-
Automatic controls
In September 2026, the installer reported automatic controls for the exhaust fans and humidifiers fitted and working.
Reported running in September 2026
-

Climate readings
We read the temperature, humidity and CO₂ in our rooms with a handheld meter. From July to September 2026, the readings were logged each morning in the farm’s daily report.
Running since July 2026
-

Our own grow bags
We make our own grow bags on the farm: wood pellets soaked in hot water, spawn mixed in, each bag sealed and pierced by hand. We have tested different pellet substrates side by side. What is mycelium?
Running since September 2026
-

Rope-hung bags
The bags hang from the rack shelves on rope loops, a method the farm worked out for itself.
Running since September 2026
-
Pack labels
Pack labels are printed on the farm’s own label printer.
Running since August 2026
Built
-
Farm-management software
We are building our own farm-management software; it is not yet in use on the farm.
Built, not yet in use
Planned
-
Cooling automation
Automatic control of the air conditioning was proposed in September 2026.
Planned in September 2026
Where we are going
Our aim is to grow into a technology company in mycelium and farm management.
